This had to be one of the hardest decisions we’ve had to make, even harder for Michelle. The decision was made a few weeks ago, but finding the words to explain it has been difficult. The short story is: Effective immidiately the Renegade storyline is coming to a premature end.
The frank reason is that continuing with the story no longer aligns with our goals. Our basic belief is to achieve maximum creativity one needs to be free to put all their energy into a project. Some days you can work a full time job and come home to put in a few more hours on a side project, but other days no amount of pep talk can inspire you to be creative at that point. In order to make this the main project that would mean having no more “day job” distraction.
In many ways we consider Renegade, Kit’s Story, and especially Taka’s Story to be successes. We have hundreds of people who visit every week and that’s a great feeling. We are constantly learning and improving and even having fun. However, where success has been lacking is progressing towards being able to do comics full time. In terms of financial success Renegade has been a big loser. I don’t mean to make it about “the money”, but it sure is hard to live without it.
Because connecting with you, our audience, has been such a big part of what makes comics fun for us it makes it doubly difficult to make a decision that will probably disappoint quite a few of you. We’re disappointed too and the decision wasn’t terribly easy to make, but our goal is a good one and if we succeed it will lead to even better things.
So Renegade is going into a dusty closet somewhere. We currently have no plans to pick it back up, but who knows what the future holds. For now it is back to the drawing board to try and get re-inspired.
Rest assured, we do have plans (and you may have seen snippets of them on Tumblr & Twitter). We do hope you’ll be around to check them out. Follow us on any of our social media streams to stay up to date!

The PICC line is in.
So far I’m doing ok but I’m limiting my stress and trying to stay relaxed to avoid complications. So what does that mean? Expect late comics and guest comics/art in place of the regular comic. I will try and get the comics done, but I can make no promises. I do promise that regardless, there WILL be something up each Friday.

Hopefully I will have a chance to throw together a holiday wallpaper for y’all. I’ve done it every year and would hate to see myself not do it this year.
Oh yea and the Ginpu t-shirt design I showed off some time ago is finally a reality. ^^ When I have more details I will let you know. But here’s pics of the prototype I was sent. (just needed a bigger size for me. XD)
The final shirt will actually be on this color t-shirt – which I should mention is a recycled shirt. ^^

So I had this idea. I want to do some free art, BUT how do I decide who to give it to. Then a friend suggested a raffle. This way everyone can participate, regardless of skill. So, here’s how it’s going to work. ^^
This contest will be raffle/lottery style. That means each entry gets a number. After the end date a random number will be chosen via random number generator at random.org and the winner gets a free flat color digital waist up drawing of their own character, or a character owned by me. (I will not draw any characters owned by other people or corporations without their explicit written permission.)

Ok… how do I begin this? As some of you may know I’ve been struggling for many years with a plethora of chronic illnesses. I finally decided I was 35 & have at least 35 more years left on this planet, and damn it I’m tired of just surviving, I WANT TO LIVE AGAIN! So I got a hold of this infectious disease doctor across the state. I went to see him on September 21st. In the past 17 days I have been on 2 different antibiotics twice a day, pro-biotics at lunch, had 12 (or was it 13?) vials of blood drawn for testing, had an entire abdominal ultrasound done and called around to different doctors to have past tests sent to this doctor across the state.
It’s looking like he’ll be able to help me. This sounds well and great. So what’s the downside right? If he can help me, it’s going to be via IV antibiotics. That means having a semi-permanent catheter in my vein so I can administer the antibiotics at home. And that likely will last a few months.
But a few months of living that way will be worth it if I can finally rid myself of this damn disease that has been plaguing me for nearly 20 years now. So…

On a side note, I now have a Tumblr account. I’ve been trying to post images up there, use it as a sketch blog. It currently has some boob images of the girls in the comic to support October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (Much like my avatar at the time of this posting.) It’s also a good representation of who has the biggest and smallest boobs in the comic. XD
So, yesterday was 6 years of Ginpu comics. Today is 9 years of Phizuol and Ginpu together. And with today’s comic we’re past the 25 page mark of the new story, Renegade (today is #26). Also, today is Friday. Can it get any better???
